World Chocolate Day

Although we are now in Midsummer in the UK Thursday July 7th is World Chocolate Day when we can all come together to celebrate our favourite ways of eating chocolate.

Established in 2009, World Chocolate Day marks the supposed anniversary of the day that this iconic confection made its first entrance into Europe in 1550. All around the world on this date, Chocolatiers and chocolate shops place their best-loved creations on sale so that everyone, both young and old, can enjoy a nibble of the stuff. Chocolate seems to have established itself quite solidly as a foundational flavor in all countries. Of course, its origin countries in South- and Central America cherish it well, but chocolate is as loved in Asia as it is in Africa. That’s why the holiday is called World Chocolate Day — everyone across the globe has found a way to luxuriate in its richness.

Whether you prefer a hand rolled and dipped truffle or a moulded shell with a soft centre, a cream, caramel, or a nutty treat, this is the perfect time to order a box for a loved one or simply an indulgence for yourself. Order from Chocolate Cooky and let us make the selection and arrange the delivery, then you can sit back and enjoy. Why not order a small ballotin as a 'teacher gift' for the end of term festivities.

And don't forget that Chocolate Cooky can also supply 'plant based' chocolate truffles suitable for vegans and vegetarians!
